Poor quality electric breast pump

To whom it may concern,

I purchased the Tommee tippee made for me single electric breast pump from baby city Armitage & chatterton a week after I gave birth (04 November 2020) to my son in hopes that I could finally be able to pump and provide milk for my son. I never believed in pumping up until I had trouble breastfeeding. The only issue I have is that my breast pump regardless of charging for 45min or longer as the guidelines of the manual my battery drops down from 3 bars to one bar within half an hour. I spent R1699 on this pump in order to make my life as a new mom easier and to be able to provide breastmilk for my newborn. I struggle with the incapacity and faultiness of the product to stay consistent in ensuring my newborn has milk. After doing my research and finding the tommee tippee breast pump as the latest model on the market I made the purchase and may have made a big mistake as a struggling new mother. My nursery only consist of tommee tippee products (I’ll enclose the pictures and also probably a mistake). I have stopped by baby city Armitage & chatterton road Pietermaritzburg where I purchased my pump in order to enquire about whether the product could be tested to see if the breastpump was faulty. Not only was the manager (Trevor) arrogant but also acted like he had ANY experience with breastfeeding. The baby city staff was ill trained and unable to advice me regarding the tommee tippee range but also wanted me to leave my breastpump at the store?!! The is not an option since I solely pump breastmilk and feed my son how can I spend so much money on something I depend on as a new mother that doesn’t work as well as the brand broadcast but also can’t be exchanged. Outraged that I was ********** and might as well have paid a bit extra and purchased a medela breast pump. I didn’t initially want a refund I just wanted the remote to be swooped out or but that couldn’t even be arranged for a struggling and stressed first time mother. I am extremely appalled at the service I received and would just like a refund which is in my right as no physical damaged was done to the prices and my warranty is still intact and would like to purchase a different brand. I won’t be using tommee tippee with my second or third child as the unprofessionalism and poor service just stresses me out as a new mother. The baby city Pietermaritzburg representative was not helpful either.
