Defective products

I purchased tommee tippee heat sensing s****s and used them for my first child. I packed them away in my room cupboard and decided to use them again for my second child as I am pregnant again but I notice that all s****s have melted/lost shape. They were not placed in direct sunlight nor have they been washed in a dishwasher. Even after washing them there is a very gooey and sticky residue left behind.

I contacted Jenna from tommee tippee and she claims that she has not received any such complaint but she would forward the complaint to head office in the UK. The response I received back was that it is normal for plastic to degrade over time.

Tommee tippee takes no precautions to warn customers about this. No where is it stated on their packaging that the plastic will degrade over time. I am so sceptical about any tommee tippee product going forward. I am going to throw away the breast pump, bottles, teats, dummies and teethers as I would not want my child to consume melted plastic (even though some of these products are brand new and still sealed). Will definitely be going with Avent as I still have some of their products and have had no quality issues with them.
