To Anywhere Carriers

My vehicle which is a Landrover Defender TDI 90 was damaged in transit from Pietermaritzburg KZN to Cape Town with To Anywhere Carriers. I was asked to get quotes for the damages which I did. The value of which was over R70 000 in both quotes. First I was told the damages were caused from rust damage - the vehicle is aluminium so impossible, I was then told they would be willing to give me R10 000 incl vat which was not an admission of guilt on their part but as a good gesture. When I told them under no circumstances would I accept that and that I wanted the check sheets sent to me that were done before loading the vehicle (which stated that there were no damages on the vehicle) and after offload the damages were noted by the staff at the Cape Town depot. I was then told the vehicle was too tall to see the damages on the top of the vehicle - essentially saying that I am a **** and didn't declare damages. Well what are the check sheets for??????? Are you not supposed to check the entire vehicle before loading and off loading??????? Of course the driver will admit to nothing and here we sit with a damaged vehicle and an *********** Claims Manager.
