ABSCONDS WITH DEPOSIT

This contractor was recommended by Armour Colour as an applicator for their product. After receiving a quotation, a project meeting was called with all contractors for a specific date and time. 45 minutes after the meeting started, I received a phone call from his office to say that he could not make it - he was in court. did he not know this the day before, that morning????

We arranged another meeting, he explained the circumstances and we agreed to move forward. He agreed to start the following Wednesday and would be on site by 08h00. By 11h30 neither he nor his crew had arrived. He didn't answer his phone, eventually responded via WhatsApp that he thought they were there ..... really??? He was supposed to be there with them to kick off the project.

I contacted Armour Colour and arranged another applicator. I contacted Tyrone, told him that he had to repay the deposit, that I could not work with unreliable people like him as it has a knock-on effect on too many people which costs time and money. he said the understood and would repay the deposit immediately.

He then sent another WhatsApp asking me to reconsider overnight to which I rep**** no.

He made various commitments to repay, which he has not kept to. For the past week he simply ignores any attempt to communicate with him.

He does not answer any calls.

In my book, he is not only unreliable, but his behaviour indicates that he is a *****.

I am fully aware that business in SA is tough, but you don't spend persons A deposit on person B or on 'toys'. if you have a problem, communicate, otherwise live with the consequences.
