Lack of professionalism - One sided contract

Following many stories where photographers drop the couple a week before their wedding, and loosing their deposit: I requested that TML please add a clause to state that should they cancel on us, they would refund our deposit. TML was not willing to adjust the T&Cs to this simple request, raising major red flags. I honestly felt that was a reasonable request; that and getting TML to sign the agreement as well, it is a binding document for both parties. The T&C’s were only conditions protecting their business and nothing mentioned to the protection of the client. How do you expect a client to pay money into your account without some sort of security. Found lack of professionalism with TML, lack of knowledge with regards to a business agreement: I suggest a course on contractual agreements, and how they are structured to cover both parties
