Good day,

I would like to make a complaint with regards to a suit purchased from TM Lewin store in Rosebank Mall.

I purchased a suit, on Monday 5 December 2016, shortly after the purchase (40 minutes later), I returned back to the store, to request if I could possibly return the suit, and get a refund since I had seen a similar suit at half the price at another store.

The store attendant informed me that the suit pants had already been taken to the tailor, and as such I cannot return the suit.

Another store attendant then attempted to go to the tailor to see if they had started with amendments.

He came back to inform me that the tailor was closed and as such I am out of luck and am unable to make the return.

I find it rather strange though, that I made the purchase on 5 December, could not return the item since it was at the tailor for amendment, yet, the receipt from the tailor, is recorded at 6 December 2016.

Thereafter, I conceded and once the suit was amended, I came to collect the suit from the store on Wed 7 December. I purchased the suit specifically for a function that I was attending on Thursday 8 December, as well as for future use. On the Thursday before the function, before I was due to put on the suit, I noticed, that the store attendant failed to remove the security tag from the pants. I then called the store and explained, that I have to wear this suit to this function and there is a security tag that was not removed, how can I remove it, since I do not have anything else to wear for this function, and it is in half an hour. The store attendant then told me that the security tag is just magnetic, and either with a magnet or a bit of force I would be able to remove the tag myself.

Well this caused me to damage the pants!!!

I took the pants back to the store, and they said they would repair the whole. The slight whole was stitched by the tailor, however the pants remain damaged, and risk being torn further. These are brand new suit pants, worn once, and now are damaged. At the price paid for this suit, I do not accept this kind of treatment, and should not have to accept damaged suit pants due to your store attendant leaving on the security tag. It should not be my inconvenience.
