********** Business Practices - Violating Consumer Protection Act
My complex decided to install fibre wifi in all the units through a company called TITC SA. The company then offered all the owners and tenants the option of purchasing prepaid wifi which is only active for the month you paid for which is paid in advance. the selling point was easy to cancel and pay in advance. if payment isnt received in advance the services are automatically cancelled. Such a joke and a ********** lie. I ended up unemployed in 2018 but by January 2019 my cashflow completely ran out. So i didnt pay for the month of February for the services. They didnt immediately disconnect, which was strange. On 8 February 2019 i get a call at 10:30 from TITC asking why i didnt pay. i informed them i was unemployed and that they were supposed to disconnect immediately as they had advertised. They then informed me that within 2 hours the services will be disconnected and that i will need to pay reconnection fees to use the services again. I explained i understood that and that being unemployed i wont be reconnecting. To my shock, they kept billing me every month. eventually i told them of the error and they said their internal system reflected that i had an account with them. I explained that it wasn't my problem that their systems were malfunctioning and that they should correct it. They never did. To date they kept billing me and even though they acknowledge that i am not using the services because it has been disconnected since February 2019, they claim that i still owe them for amounts from February to December accumulated to over R9000 and are now threatening to blacklist e for an account i never opened. I only purchased prepaid. Speaking to the accounts woman is like talking to a brick wall. Not only are there in violation of the consumer protection act law but have also *******ly obtained confidential information through *****ulaent advertising of a product and now want to use that confidential information to blacklist a consumer for an account that was never opened by that consumer.
DON'T PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM TITC SA. THEY ARE ********** BUSINESS OWNERS AND VIOLATE CONSUMER RIGHTS!
