Timmerman & Vroutjie not delivering on promises
The timeline of my experience with Timmerman & Vroutjie so far is as follows: 25 Sep 2020: Order placed for ***eon File Rack, as advertised on their website (this item has in the meantime been removed from their website). 28 Sep 2020: Response from Irene that they are fully booked until end of November 2020. 9 Oct 2020: Flash sale advertised on FaceBook. R4,500 for 8 seater table. Mail sent to Irene to enquire how much it will cost for the table, bench and chairs and how long it will take. WhatsApp received from Irene that lead time is 6-8 weeks. 9 Oct 2020: Quotation received for ***eon File Rack, dining table with bench and delivery. 9 – 15 Oct 2020: Email communication between myself and Irene regarding options on colours of the table and different chairs available. 15 Oct 2020: Final quotation received for ***eon File Rack, Farmhouse 8-seater table + bench and 5 chairs = R15,040 16 Oct 2020: 70% deposit paid = R10,528 20 Oct 2020: Mail received from Irene to confirm receipt of deposit. 24 Nov 2020: Email and WhatsApp sent to Irene to find out what the progress is on the order. 25 Nov 2020: Confirmation from Irene that the order will be done and delivered before the 24th of December 14 Dec 2020: General email received to confirm to all clients that Timmerman has extended their closure date in order to complete all orders as arranged. 6 Jan 2021: General email received to explain that Corne has fallen ill in December and that a new production schedule will be sent by 11 January 2021. NO NEW PRODUCTION SCHEDULE WAS SENT. 26 Jan 2021: Mail sent to Irene to request an update on the progress of my order. 31 Jan 2021: WhatsApp received from Irene to confirm that Corne will start with the order in two weeks time. She will keep me updated on the progress. NO UPDATE RECEIVED. 24 Mar 2021: WhatsApp sent to Irene requesting a progress update on the order. NO REPLY RECEIVED. 25 Mar 2021: WhatsApp and email sent to Irene to cancel the order and request a refund of the R10,528 deposit paid. Response on WhatsApp from Irene on how sorry she is and whether she can give me a call later. I responded that my mind was made up and a call was not necessary. 6 Apr 2021: General email received communicating that electricity supply has been cut by Eskom. Promise to inform all clients during this week when power supply is back on. NO UPDATE RECEIVED. 6 Apr 2021: Mail sent to Irene and Aneonet requesting an update on when the refund of my deposit can be expected. NO REPLY RECEIVED. 9 Apr 2021 @ 07:10: WhatsApp sent to Irene to find out when refund of deposit can be expected. NO REPLY RECEIVED. 9 Apr 2021 @ 13:01: WhatsApp sent to Irene requesting an answer on my WhatsApp sent earlier in the day. 9 Apr 2021 @ 13:15: Reply received from Irene promising to confirm during the following week when the refund will be done. 9 Apr 2021 @ 14:42: WhatsApp sent to Irene stating that I am done waiting and requesting refund of my deposit by Monday 12 April @ 08:00. 9 Apr 2021 @ 14:46: WhatsApp received from Irene that payment will not be made by Monday due to delay in production resulting from electricity supply being cut and therefore we will just have to wait. Their lawyers are busy with communication to be sent to all clients on 12 April regarding their electricity being cut off by Eskom. 9 Apr 2021 @ 16:11: WhatsApp sent to Irene confirming that, based on communication from lawyers, I will correspond with them regarding this matter. 12 Apr 2021 @ 13:00: NO communication from lawyers received and NO refund received either. Do not throw your money down this dark pit. Their personal circumstances do not allow them to deliver on their promises and customers are expected to keep understanding why orders are delayed indefinitely.
