Paying for a non-existent newspaper

At the end of January, because I was fed up with either non-delivery or delivery of a newspaper in a Checkers packet, or looking as if it had been used for some purpose that decency forbids me from describing here, I cancelled the newspaper, additionally I was moving and did not wish to continue with my subscription. At that time I was promised a credit for the missing newspaper. When I examined my bank account in February, I noted that I had again been debited for this paper. Once again I notified the call centre and was advised that I would be credited at the month end. This came and went, no credit, so again I phoned - told matter would be investigated. No further contact as promised from them. My account has again been debited for this non received object. When I tried to obtain an explanation from the accounts department the phone was rudely put down in my ear. While I realise there is not much of a market for this inferior publication, and they must be desperate for funds, to debit accounts for cancelled papers is a shameful practice and should be investigated at the highest level.
