Time Freight don't take responsibility

5 Months ago (May 18) we shipped a Bernina Overlocker machine (worth R 12 000) from Nelspruit to Koster. Needsless to say they dropped the package and the machine broke. We asked Nelspruit (Charles ) to put "Handle with Care" & "Fragile" stickers on it, which wasn't done. They really just DON'T care about your parcel !

All steps were done with the claim: photo's taken, took the parcel & package back for their inspection immediately when we discovered the damage. They took 3 months and never reported about their progress. Lorraine Henn from Rustenburg is totally incapable as branch manager to handle claims or to take responsibility. Eventually Hendrik Bester took the claim over. He was excellent in reporting back and phoning on their progress.

They accepted it was their mistake in mistreatment & mishandling of the cargo. This Bernina Overocker machine is a discontinued product. So it can't be repaired because of the parts. (Cost to repair = R 12 000) To replace the Overlocker with the closest model will be R 9 000. We send them a proper quote from Bernina. I was willing to accept R 8 000. They then offered me R 1 000 in damage which I couldn't accept. Their final offer was R 3 000 in which they claim their T&C's of R 100/kg is the max they will offer. When I send them my banking details, but told them that I reserve my rights as their offer isn't acceptable, they ignore further responsibility.

This company don't care how they handle their cargo. They don't care what your package is worth, they just don't take any responsibility.

Realize that when you use Time Freight - that you do it completely on your own responsibility.

Dear Time Freight. Do you realize that we don't NEED your apologies. 1) We need you to respect the goods that we trust in your good & capable hands to ship it safely to the destinations that we already paid you for. 2) We need you accept it when YOU had an accident and then to rectify your mistake by just replacing the goods or the value there off that YOU have damaged. That is the way to become a reputable company !! You are NOT a reputable company. NS: The value of the goods you irreparably damaged is R 12 000. It is not a negotiation of shutting your clients up with a disgraced R 3 000.
