Honeymoon Perfection at Timamoon Lodge in South Africa

Having been lucky enough to stay in many amazing places throughout South Africa, I have to say that Timamoon lodge is unique and very, very special. From the minute you get the turn off, you drive through a mystical rainforest until you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. The road is not bad, unless you are not used a single sand road through windy and steep sections. After heavy rain I can see that it could be an issue for small cars, but when we were there any car will make it easily. The architecture is a work of art, in fact the whole lodge feels like an art piece. Every corner is filled with interesting artefacts, furniture, sculptures and art from around the world. The attention to detail is exquisite and every effort for romance and relaxation has been thought of. I LOVE the fact that there is no TV which helps you reconnect with yourself, your partner and your surroundings. With so many distractions in life including technology, I think we as humans have forgotten to just sit and do nothing. Every inch of our Unit, Secret Moon was interesting, well equipped and comfortable. The pool was the highlight as well as the outside shower and bath. The food was pure fine dining and took us on a journey of taste. Some dishes so beautiful you felt guilty for eating it and messing it up :) The staff are professional, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to open minded couples, wanting something different and unique - I can assure you there is nothing quite like it!
