Abandoned project

TileMoTec are a family owned and run barthoom renovation business. They walked away from my bathroom renovation project citing that it would take too much effort to complete. Their workmanship was poor despite claiming that they offer "German workmanship at its best" (see their website http://www.tilemotec.co.za/).

They abandoned site halfway through the project as well and only re-established site after i agreed to pay them an additional sum of money. The manner that they moved off site was disturbing too. The simply disappeared with no warning and no explanantion. It was only after I went to their offices that I got an explanation of the reasons they left site.

They told me to keep the remaining 10% that I owed them. We had an agreed snag list which was based 90% on correcting their poor workmanship. They were also very difficult to deal with and made decisions on finishes and brands without our involvement. In general, they were not an easy contractor to work with.

I would advise prospective clients of theirs to think carefully before appointing TileMoTec to do their bathroom renovations.
