Loyalty and Superb Service Goes a Long Way..
We decided to go out and experience the newly opened Tigers Milk in Blouberg on Sunday afternoon, 2 February 2020, and to say that my friends and I were excited, is an understatement, we were elated to say the least. We wanted to eat, drink and just chill as we usually do and at our usual Tigers Milk spot in Long Street, in the CBD. When we arrived, we were greeted by Kayla, and shown options for seating at the bar area, two of the tables were booked and she said she did not want to rush us . We requested seating in the restaurant area, but were advised that there was no suitable table to accommodate us. Kayla was not very helpful or accommodating, and had a bit of an attitude when serving us, which made us very uncomfortable and after much deliberation we agreed to sit in the bar area. Subsequent to being seated, we were called by another waiter Theo, who advised us that there was a table available in the restaurant area. When we were seated, it took some time for us to be served, we eventually asked for menus and proceeded to order drinks. Kayla was responsible for the table and her approach was not very comforting. It was rather unnerving; as we usually frequent Tigers Milk and have not experienced this before. Luckily, the waiter that served us our drinks, Theo, was superb, he even saw the problems we were having with our current and placated us. It was really a pleasure to be served by him, he really changed our experience. We go to different places, we meet, different people and as people, we know that we have different days with different moods; however, in the service industry, you are taught to curb your attitudes and put them aside and assist the customers to the best of your ability. To prevent something like this from happening again, I would like to advise that staff training is provided to teach employees how to engage with customers. The manager on duty was Talia.
