Ordered a set of off-road rims and Yokohama Geo lander crossover tyres. Before figment I confirmed with the salesman that the tyres were Yokohama. 2.5 hours later as I’m about to drive out I notice that I have Hankook Tyres fitted. When I queried this with the salesman he said he’s sorry he forgot to tell me that they don’t make the Yokohama Tyre in my size but he’s given me the Hankook tyres which are more suited to my needs as they are 60 road and 40 off-road. He said he’s sorry he forgot to tell me, even though I was standing there for 2.5 hours while they were being fitted.He also confirmed the price is the same. It turns out that they do make the Yokohama in my size. It also turns out that the Hankook tyres he fitted are 100% road tyres. It also turns out that the Hankook tyres list price is R500.00 cheaper per Tyre. The salesman has now tried to say there was some confusion when ordering the tyres as I was originally looking at a different size. I want to be very clear, there was absolutely no confusion we both new what I was ordering and he confirmed it 2 minutes before the staff began fitment. This is a case of blatant ***** where the salesman was trying to cash in by fitting cheaper tyres than ordered.
