Lying to pensioner and over charging.

I went with my mom, who is a pensioner, to get 3 new tyres for her car at the Rosebank branch (she had recently purchased one because it burst). The salesperson upsold her to get 4 poor quality tyres saying that it would only cost around R400 more and she would technically get a 'free tyre'. However, on further research, it was found that this tyre would not be usable as a spare on its own. Furthermore, the poor quality tyres were faulty and not safe. This upselling was done manipulatively for the benefit of the store and to the detriment of the customer.

She went back to get the 3 tyres that she originally requested but they were now apparently the same price. The prices for these originally requested tyres and their fitting were inflated and a pensioner discount was no longer app**** across the items on the invoice. It is appalling to take advantage of any customer, particularly of a pensioner.
