Different service levels at different branches
I have given a 3 star because I have had good and bad experiences. The experience level varies by branch. TWT Newmarket sucks, TWT Alberton Lifestyle centre - much better experience. I went to TWT Newmarket, asked for a certain tyre - was told no stock, also no stock of tyres my size but they expect to get my tyre early next year, or could get other brand in my size in a day or so. I decided to use my spare wheel and another extra spare I had with some wear in the meantime so I went back just for fitting, as these 2 would tide me over well into the new year. I was met by an over zealous salesman, who wanted to know why I wasn't putting on brand new tyres so I told him that I had come in the day before and was told they do not have stock. He said "don't give up where there's a will there's a way...". Anyway he did find the brand and size at another branch and organised a transfer and started bragging about how he likes to help. pulled typical sales techniques on me which I don't like, made me feel like he was doing me a huge favour, and that I was lucky because these tyres are like gold! Anyway I asked if he could verify the price and he quoted me a price that is R500 more than the price on the TWT online web site? That was the end of that discussion. I then went to TWT Alberton Lifestyle centre Austell Road, was helped quickly, the tyres located at another branch and the price - well the proper price that is on the TWT website. Thanks to Peter at TWT Alberton lifestyle centre!
So my question - why did the first salesman at TWT Newmarket tell me there is no stock anywhere and I have to use another brand or wait until the new year? Does he not like my face or skin colour perhaps? Why does the second salesman at TWT Newmarket quote me R500 more per tyre? Whatsup guys?
