On Tuesday 14 November 2023 I bought a Niki Cashew Slab Chocolate at a KwikSpar. Got home, opened it and started eating. Halfway into eating the slab, I suddenly bite on something that felt very unusual. It was like eating shattered glass or chewing on sand. I immediately spit out everything into my hand and placed on a piece of paper to investigate. To my disappointment it was a piece of glass/porcelain. So I called Tiger Brands Customer Service, go through all the Q & A's, call complete. Thought to myself, you (Tiger Brands) as well known company nationwide will certainly take this incident serious, as nowhere on the packaging it says "beware you might chew on glass" or "glass might be present eat at own risk" I phoned 3 times to check what's happening? They said they tried to phone me to arrange the courier company to pick up the "evidence"? I told the person that my recent phone calls list didn't show any calls from a different/foreign number. So for Tiger Brands its not a big issue if you chew on a piece of glass/porcelain. It is not a big issue that the glass/porcelain might damage your teeth, especially if you recently went for a root canal and new crown fitted? It's also not a big issue/concern that a piece of glass/porcelain might be swallowed in a case like this and a customer might choke/risk of dying? Not at all a big concern for Tiger Brands.
Well long story short its been 1 month & 10 days no feedback, no courier company came to collect the slab as "evidence" to "investigate" as they said. Wish I can post the pictures on Hello Peter so everyone can see. I warn everybody purchasing and consuming Tiger Brand products to use all with upmost caution. The Customer Service Department of Tiger Brands (which represents the company as well) is well under trained, no follow up, no urgency, nothing.
