Disgusting dreadlock, disgusting customer service

I recently had an unfortunate encounter with Koo beans, Tiger brand that left me deeply dissatisfied and disgruntled with both their product and customer service. The incident involved finding a dreadlock in one of their canned beans, which not only ruined the dish I was preparing but also caused additional wastage of ingredients. Unfortunately, it took the company almost three weeks to address my complaint, and to make matters worse, they're offer of compensation for the losses incurred was in fact a slap in the face. Needless to say, this experience has left me with serious doubts about the quality and integrity of their products.

The incident occurred when I was preparing a meal for my family using Koo baked beans. To my shock and horror, as I opened the can and poured its contents into a pot, a dreadlock was tangled among the beans. The discovery was utterly revolting and raised questions about the company's hygiene and quality control practices. I immediately contacted their customer support to express my concerns and frustration and seek resolution for the issue.

Regrettably, the response from Tiger brands was extremely slow and unresponsive. It took them almost three weeks to acknowledge my complaint, during which time I felt ignored and undervalued as a customer. Considering the gravity of the matter, such a lengthy delay in addressing the issue was unacceptable and further exacerbated my frustration.

Furthermore, I explained to them that due to the contamination of their product, I had to discard the entire meal I was preparing, along with additional ingredients used in the process. This caused a considerable amount of wastage and inconvenience, which I expected the company to address with some form of compensation or reimbur*****t. To my dismay, they did not even offer an apology and failed to acknowledge the financial losses incurred as a result of their contaminated product.

As a loyal customer, I expected better from Tiger brands. The lack of urgency and empathy displayed during the complaint resolution process is disheartening. A responsible and ethical company should take immediate action to investigate such incidents and provide appropriate compensation for their customers when their products lead to wastage and inconvenience. If a 10cm braid, that no doubt contaminated an entire batch, made it into my can unexpected, what else has gone into our bodies through their products unnoticed?

Koo, Tiger brands, has been nothing short of disappointing. The presence of a dreadlock in their canned beans was not only unsanitary but also caused unnecessary wastage of ingredients. Moreover, their slow and inadequate response to my complaint, coupled with the refusal to compensate for the losses incurred, leaves me with serious doubts about their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. As I ranted over this with my 12 year old in the car his response was simply, "that's life" and I have to sit and wonder how one, we as South Africans accept such poor quality product and customer service and two, whether Tiger brands honestly believed their "compensation" without an apology would appease me. Is this because we're so relaxed about hygiene, customer service and quality? Should this be my new normal? We as consumers shouldn't expect more than this?

I, for one, will no longer be purchasing products from Tiger brand, and I strongly advise others to reconsider supporting a company that lacks accountability and fails to value its customers' concerns.
