A Gem Awaits Discovery in Mbombela
There is a gem waiting to be discovered and enjoyed in Mbombela! The Tidal & Vine Restaurant in Sonheuwel offers a lot of everything: an intimate and comfy setting, amazing attention to detail, a friendly and engaging family who cook (dad Johan), maitre'd (mom Endria) and serve (daughter?), and most importantly, wonderfully delicious food! Formerly based and well-known in the Cape, the family have returned to the Lowveld, and what a gain for the region! Their seafood dishes offer a truly mouthwatering variety, and one is hard-pressed to choose! If you are a meat *****, don't despair.... the pork belly, traditional oxtail, or Malaysian lamb curry dishes, among others, will also have you salivating! We were a group of 8 people when we visited, and everyone had something different - and everyone remarked on how tasty and well-cooked their dish was. The service was attentive, the wait well worth it, and the final bill also a pleasant surprise!
