TIC - Travel Insurance Consultants rejected my legitimate claim

I took a travel insurance from "Travel Insurance Consultants" (TIC) before I left for Mauritius on the 7th of September, I unfortunately lost my bag and after a month SAA declared my bag lost.

So, I put the claim and after weeks of calling them every day, I finally got a reply that the claim has been rejected as we don't cover camera and that should have been in the carry one luggage.

I had 37 other items alongside the camera in the bag, according to the law they suppose to pay for the lost items or lump sum if there are multiple items. They rejected my claim based on one item, I would love to know if this is even legal?
