Complete refund of unexpected expenses

We suffered a major delay at Newark Airport, USA, in September due to technical issues with radar in the area. This required an Uber ride across New York to a hotel near La Guardia airport, the overnight accommodation and an Uber ride to La Guardia early the next morning. On our return, I detailed the costs incurred (with electronic receipts from Uber and the hotel concerned) and submitted to TIC with a conversion USD/Rand at the time. TIC acknowledged receipt of the claim and a full refund was received in a couple of weeks. No questions asked, no ducking and diving, and they kept us informed by *** of progress. Great experience, especially as the travel insurance was fairly expensive (my wife being over 70 years old)!
