Thyme on Nicol - their bakery is a ****ry 🤷🏾♂️ They fail, but you’ll always find stale 👍

I should start by saying that Pick n Pay Thyme on Nicol is my favourite store. Now however I thought it fitting to send a review as this is the third time I have received a bad product from that store. I love cake, any cake and all cake 🫣. I personally did not actually buy this (3rd) cake I speak off, my boyfriend did. He was in the “dog-box”. Long story short, I wanted a slice of caramel / chocolate cake. He didn’t buy a slice, but a whole cake. Brownie points which he earned were very quickly deducted… Oh my gosh! This was the driest most crumbling cake I’ve ever had. I thought that it would be 3rd (4th, 5th) time lucky for me as this time I did not buy this myself. As luck would have it - No. Again, worst, driest cake ever. To add injury to insult, my boyfriend seeing my “upside frown” - decided to go back to get me some confectionery tarts (apple, chocolate and some brownies). Let’s say he’s still in the “dog-box”. Now the reason for my feedback is this : I think the bakery at Thyme on Nicol is a real joke (I’m sure they have learner bakers working there). This feedback is not just from my caramel cake, this is always the issue - dry, stale, yesterdays or the days before cakes are always displayed at this store. Not only cakes, their bakery is constantly serving stale and days old products. Like I said Thyme in Nicol is my favourite store but has the worst bakery ever. I would not have complained ( I don’t buy from the bakery section) but my boyfriend today got me a whole caramel cake, went back for tarts and for the umpteenth time, dry crumbly, days old cake and tarts. PNP thyme on Nicol, I love your store - but your bakery and your old old cakes and tarts displayed every morning as fresh is such a lie and disappointment. PS: PNP is normally a great store apart from their bakery (selling fortnight old cakes and tarts as fresh) - I will still shop there.
