Beware of consumer exploitation due to stock shortages

This dealer abuses the shortage of vehicles to exploit clients. I was happy to be offered a LC300 after a few .o ths of waiting. It however came with R100k of "extras" of "value added products" the dealer was not willing to budge on. Apparently everything has been installed and costed. Delivery could not be dome to Gauteng, I had to pay for ot myself, despite a nearly R10k delivery fee appearing on the contract. A very rigid and uncompromising take-it-or-leave-it approach. After I accepted the quote under duress and was about to sign the contract, I was informed that some of the accessories was indeed not installed as advised, and that the intended collection on 3 January could not take place. This after the dealer advised me hours before that Iay proceed to book my ticket. Minutes before executing the contract I was called by Melrose toyota who offered me a similar vehicle. Astonishingly every extra was priced at less than halt of what Tekwino charged. Towbar, smash and grab, admin fee, etc all has been severely inflated by Tekwini, capitalising from an uninformed public and stock shortages. Needless to say I cancelled the purchase and wrote off my plane ticket, which was already a sunk cost.
