Deposit ********ly withheld

Had a terrible experience with Upholstery Guru.

I was referred by a friend. Been in contact with Angelique van der Sandt and accepted the quote to recover 2 pieces of furniture - an antique chair and a kist. Went through all the trouble to select the material and my goods were collected. After about 2 days I was informed that the material I chose was now a problem and I was asked to take a plain grey material as an alternative which I refused. After more communication I was promised that the driver was to collect the material from the service provider. Next moment my furniture was delivered back to my home uncovered and damaged. The Upholstery Guru was happy to refund me - but upon receiving my deposit an amount of R500 was ********ly deducted. After making an enquiry, I was informed that the deduction was for collection and delivery. The quote received and accepted did not make any mention of collection and or delivery cost yet this was ********ly withheld. I was then told that this cost is worked into the total amount (thus a hidden costs). I was also not given a copy of the T&Cs which reference was made to. I was informed that this is in the T&Cs...….. which to date (2 weeks later) I have not received nor was my full deposit returned.

I wish to caution customers when engaging this business as their operations and practices are not above board. My goods were returned damaged, full refund not paid back - even after several requests in this regard. I have various messages and photo's which supports the statements above.

Please rather consider a different service provider and learn from my lessons and financial loss.
