ZERO Star Rating! Blatant THEFT

I received a telemarketing call from “The Unlimited” group trying to sell me some of their products. After a lengthy bombardment of information, I asked them to send me all the info via e-mail so that I can read through it and then decide whether I saw any value in their product or not and whether I would like to subscribe or buy any policy. I was told that they could not do that and that they first had to build a profile for me before they could send me any e-mails. I comp****, but when I was asked for my bank account number and details, I was very reluctant to give it. I was then assured that it was only for the purpose to build the profile and did not constitute any contract or payment terms whatsoever and that it was just to speed up the process should I wish to buy any of the products. I did not. A short time later my account was debited with R250.00 which I immediately stopped. I contacted “The Unlimited” group and asked for proof or recording where I stated or gave permission that I agreed to any of their services offered or any documentation sent or signed by me. They said that they would cancel the debit order and the service (to which I never agreed) and they did. They also explained that it would take them 7 working days to get the recording. I phoned them on the 28th of July 2017 and I’m still waiting on any feedback from them. They also did they same to my wife. She also had to phone them to stop the debit. So apart from *****ing twice, "if" I actually had bought one of their products they charged us 2 times for the same thing (e.g. I took out a gym contract for myself but both myself and my wife's account is debited for my contract).

I find that seriously dishonest and sly to the point where I actually believe they stole. They took money out of my account without permission or my knowledge, the pure definition of *****ing. How many people don’t check their bank account statements and are signed up for some or other policy without their knowledge.

I saw another review/post on the 19th of July 2017 named “******** Debut order” that also described an ******** debit… funny enough, it also occurred round about the same time.

: Hi Jaco, thanks so much for letting us know about this. We’ve listened to the call and understand your frustration with the agent who called you. Coupled with the fact that this has happened to your wife too, we owe your family a massive apology. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to correct this situation. Take care, The Unlimited

With all due respect, for you to merely post a reply here saying that you understand my frustration and you owe us a massive apology just does not justify the situation for me... It never should have happened in the first place. The Unlimited broke the law. They stole my money. A mere apology is hardly any good. If I did not catch and reverse it immediatly it would have been gone forever. Secondly, in your reply you thank me for letting you know... I did so telephonically more than 30 days before your reply, so don't act as if your response is quick. I ended up at hellopeter.com as it was not. Thirdly, you did not correct anything! How could you? The damage has been done. That reply you sent me is to save face to anyone reading this. If you really rep**** sincerely you would have confirmed that you were in the wrong. Not we "understand your frustration with the agent"!!! That is BS! So I do not want anything from The Unlimited. I would just like all that reads this to know, that just because I received an "official business reply" does not mean that any matter has been resolved or that the company in question did their level best to rectify the situation and especially in this case where I'm still not happy with The Unlimited or would ever recommend them...

Hi Jaco, thank you for your time on the phone. Our response to your post on Hello Peter was not handled particularly well. We would like to take this opportunity to take ownership for the inconvenience that the sale has caused you. You are correct that our agent was dishonest in capturing the sale, we have subsequently dismissed the sales agent as we do not tolerate that type of behaviour. You are correct in saying that it is unacceptable that we didn’t get back to you right away when you called to complain, and that you had to post on Hello Peter before your policy was cancelled. We really have messed up and did not take ownership of the situation at the time. We would like to thank you for your feedback and we have learnt a huge amount from this unfortunate situation. Take care, The Unlimited

I accept your apology and I appreciate the fact that The Unlimited owns up to their mistakes. It is a rare thing these days. I will also commend you on the way you are willing to make matters right and for getting back to me even though my second comment was almost 2 months later than the original message. I see this case and complaint as resolved.
