Way beyond bad experience encountered with The Unlimited

My experience is not an isolated incident, but a recurring issue with insurance companies that don't underwrite their own products. Last year, my son's unfortunate hospitalization for three days due to an assault and ******* was supposed to be covered fully with R6,000.00 compensation. Shockingly, The Unlimited only compensated R2,000.00, leaving me disheartened.

I also want to highlight my interaction with The Unlimited's cancellation process. Despite their claim of responding within 14 days, my initial cancellation request went unanswered for a whole month. Even after a follow-up request 31 days later, it took another 15 days to get confirmation of my policy's cancellation. This 45-day ordeal reflects their lack of care and commitment.

I've encountered various insurance types, including cellphone, life, and funeral insurance, and a common issue prevails: companies not taking full responsibility for their products. This repeated scenario shatters trust and highlights the need for both insurance administration and underwriting.

From my journey, I strongly recommend insurers that handle both administration and underwriting. While cheaper options may be tempting, my experiences reveal they lead to compromised service and limited coverage. Insurers standing by their products might be more expensive, but their support during crises is invaluable.

Absa Insurance stands out as a stellar example. With no complaints reported to the Ombudsman for Insurance in 2022, they embody commitment to customer satisfaction, contrasting sharply with recurring issues faced with other insurance administrators.
