Unlimited claim rejections

The Unlimited offer a vehicle scratch and dent cover. But When it comes to claiming they will try to find any technicality to reject your claim.

For example, they will not authorize any claim if there is the tiniest of “cracks” anywhere on the entire panel.

In my case, I submitted a claim for the left side of my bumper which had a small paint scratch. For almost 2 weeks they kept asking for more and more pictures. Claiming that they could not see the damage.

Finally, the claim was rejected. They said that they had found a tiny crack (1cm in size) in a different spot on the bumper.

When I checked and found the spot they were referring to, I explained that my vehicle has a plastic bumper. I wish I could attach a picture to show what their rejection was based on. It is ridiculous.

I tried to explain that when bumped the bumper will not stay dented. The plastic pops back to its shape…

They were not willing to understand or willing accept this fact. Even though the claim was well within their cover amount.

They clearly DO NOT WANT to honor claims. I find this completely contradictory to the cover they offer. It is a technicality which does not affect the claim amount, except to offer them a way to reject claims.

I feel sorry for folk who have this cover with the Unlimited.

Please share your experience on Hello Peter as well. People should be informed of what they are in for with this company.

They are happy to take your premium every month. But when it comes to claiming, then they don't want to know you!

So, my "family" phoned me to tell me that I do not understand them.
Apparently they are still rejecting the claim for the same reason.
No surprises there.
I asked for their CEO's email address and was refused.
So, I guess I will just publish the facts and allow the general public to make up their own minds as to whether they want to deal with this company.
I will also escalate the complaint to the newly formulated National Financial Ombud Scheme.
I do not believe this company is operating in good faith.

I understood the outcome the first time.
It seems the Unlimited are still of the opinion that if they can reject a claim rather than honor it, they will!
Their "claims specialist", after numerous emails and pictures from every angle, managed to find a 1cm crack.
Thid is all they require to reject a claim.
As they cover scratches & dents and not cracks.
Even though the actual repair falls within their cover limit.
This is definitely not a company I would recommend to anyone.
Hopefully others who read this post will be fairly informed and warned.
