The Unlimited Cruelty via Warranty

On the 16th of August my car was towed through the Unlimited to the yard of the towing company and on the 17th they told me to call an RMI accredited dealer to receive my vehicle of which I did (BMW) dealership in Emalahleni. After the company did an assessment I was informed by their underwriting company of Dotsure that I must submit service history otherwise they will not consider the quotation!!

I did submit those documents, and when I requested an update 2 days later I was informed they’re waiting for an investigation report from the Unlimited which was strange because my policy was/is up to date.

After requesting to speak to their immediate manager they came back to me to say the claim has been rejected based on 3 factors: 1. I failed to submit service history, 2. resultant damage, 3. Wear and tear.

I informed him them the service history has been submitted and it’s was last done on the vehicle at mileage of 144000 KM and I had bought the vehicle at the mileage of 147000 KM. Secondly how can the talk of resultant damage because the part that is not functioning is covered on the policy and lastly the fact that the car is a second hand, tear and wear should be expected..

It’s now almost 5 days since I submitted a formal dispute of them refusing the claim and furthermore, they’re insisting that I am liable for paying the diagnostics with the dealership since the claim has been rejected and that should the vehicle accumulate storage fees I shall also be liable for that as well.

To think I his is my first claim with them since joining!! It’s really frustrating and disheartening to experience this kind of service. I need for them to resolve this matter as soon as possible by paying the total cost of R25K as per the dealership service quote.
