The Unlimited

September 2020 my husband had a bad fall in our bathroom and knocked his head on the side of the bath. He was hospitalised for more than 80 days. After his been a very loyal customer of The Unlimited for many years, i submitted a claim. Oh my word, after 3 months of interrogation and completing forms and e-mails back and forth, I was told they not going to pay my claim. To this day, my husband could not work again, because of the severe brain damage that was caused by this fall. They refused to pay because initially he was treated for something else, when he arrived at the hospital. After 2 weeks the ICU ward in Kingsway hospital realised he has a bad sore on the back of his head, he was rushed to theatre and the had to drain the cut. After a few days he had to go back to theatre for more intensive s****ing and cleaning. As a result of this fall, he had to go to rehab at Enthabeni Hospital to learn to eat, drink, walk, talk and even do basic maths and lots of other therapy. I just want to warn people dealing with establishments like The Unlimited to please make sure you read the small print. He was supposed to be paid out R 1000 per day in hospital. Well, needles to say, his claim was for R 80000.00 and we did not receive even a chance to explain and get doctors reports to them. The just cancelled the claim and that was it.
