Super frustrated

Took out the medical insurance in the beginning of the year, only started to use it this week and my first consultation at the docter i had to pay cash, then received a prescription which i also had to pay cash, after not getting better seeing the dr again received another script and guess what i had to pay for it out of my pocket again. So what is the use of having R15 000 for medication a year if it just gets declined at the pharmacy? It cost me now nearly R800 just on medicine and dr so please tell me for what am i paying??
