Stupid Scratch and Dent Policy - The Unlimited

I’ve been paying for a dent and scratch policy with The Unlimited since 2021, but I’ve come to realize that the way the policy is managed seems to take advantage of loyal clients. Despite consistently paying my premiums, when I submit a claim, I’m told that I can’t claim for “pre-existing” damage simply because I couldn’t afford to repair it at the time of a previous claim.

For instance, the policy covers R5000 every three months. If I submit a claim for R5000 and have additional damage on the car that I can't afford to fix immediately, I’m told I can’t claim for that damage in future claims. This essentially means that any damage not fixed right away becomes unclaimable—even though I'm still paying for coverage.

In my opinion, this is a flawed and unfair policy. It doesn’t serve the best interests of customers and ends up being a waste of money. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this policy to anyone.

Hi Sandile.

We're sorry to hear that your claims experience hasn't been a good one. Pre-existing scratches and dents are only covered after you have paid the first 2 successful debit orders. A claims specialist will give you a call today.

Hi, This is not true. Please reread my review; I have been a client since 2021. I once owned a Toyota Yaris, and I now own a Polo Vivo 2018 model, and 2 of my recent claims have been rejected because of preexisting damages. It really doesn't make any sense.
