Misleading pre-existing damaage cover

The attracting factor from this small-claims motor insurance was that pre-existing damages (scratches and dents) can be covered as well. However, it is not made clear that such applies only once. Below is just detail of this concern.

First of all, the claim is limited at a mere R3000 which means most reputable panel-beaters cannot help service the repairs since they start at R6000 or so just for a minor scratch.

Secondly, the pre-existing damage only applies once for the first-time claim. If you have two scratches and by some chance you find a panelbeater than can fix it, your other scratch is not covered anymore. This should have been explained from the word go and it is the main reason why this poor review is placed here. The review aims to inform the company of their terrible service and '*******' and to warn others especially those who are not aware of this to cancel their policies before too late like on my case. I had spent more than 3 years without a claim before i canceled it due to the fact that i cannot fix my other scratch.

Reviewer Update
Good day

I did not receive the policy documents as promised. However, I instead received the recording of the initial call that was used to sign me up (which is better because when my account was created it was all based on this call and not on the policy documents).

Having listened to the call I can now say with more confidence that I was ****med. In the call, I even asked the consultant whether or not I would be covered for all the pre-existing damages (scratches and dents) as long as I waited three months between the claims, and i got "yes" as an answer. This was misleading at best and plain lies at worst. I joined because of this reason only to be told later (after i had spent more than R6000 on premiums and having claimed once for about R2000) that the policy doesn't work like that.

Please stop misleading or lying to people and then blaming them for not reading the contract esp. when the account is created based on a call before the client even receives the policy documents. I'll have to join those who are busy raising such concerns to the Consumer Protection Act.

Please stop giving people false hope just because you want them to join the company. If i had the time//money/energy i should be suing based on the call. However, I appreciate this platform that allows me to, at the least, warn others.

I wish that the company would correct their ways and be fair unto potential customers or that, if not, many people get aware of this **** and leave the insurance.
