Extremely poor service

Firstly I was misled and ******* into opening a policy after I made it clear that I don’t want to commit to making any monthly payments as I can’t afford another expense as a single parent. I was reassured that what I was being signed up for was completely free. I then received communication regarding a membership number and that’s when I realized it comes with expenses. Within the first couple of days I requested a cancellation, only to receive a call 9 days later from a representative to “assist” me. Instead she spoke non stop, trying to convince me to not cancel my membership. I told her I was not interested and she said she would send me an email. I received the email and responded that I still want it cancelled. I then received an sms saying my membership had been cancelled. A few days later a deduction was made from my account, paying the membership fee, a membership that had supposedly been cancelled. I contacted the representative again and she said that I would not be refunded even if I sent in a request. I paid for something that I didn’t want in the first place. I want my money back.

Hi Loryn.  Thank you for reaching out - we're sorry for any frustration we may have caused. We have assessed the first call we made to you to assist with your cancellation request and we found that you had agreed to keeping the policy active. Due to this agreement, there’s no refund due to you. A few days later you requested to cancel your policy again, however, you were unreachable, therefore your policy was then cancelled accordingly.

Reviewer Update
No I agreed to receiving an email from the representative because she was adamant that I take a look at the benefits after I had told her that I cannot afford to make payments.
The reputation of The Unlimited is clearly messed up looking at the amount of bad reviews here on Hellopeter. I just hope no one else falls for the tricks being pulled in public places like malls etc.
I would strongly advise anyone and everyone not to join The Unlimited.
Because in the first place I didn’t want any commitments but got ******* into joining, now when cancelling it’s a whole problem too. It’s like being forced to have a terrible meal and being left with a bad after taste for hours on end.
Poor poor service!
