Dishonest Unlimited Sales Reps
I feel deeply betrayed by the unlimited as I questioned the sales rep about the hopital cover and he said to me that even if I end up with boils I would be covered, but now the unlimited is telling I signed the policy and that it is only for an accident. I have hidradenitis which causes boils and that is why i specifically asked him about the hospital cover and that is the reason I signed as his answer was yes. Even told him I land up in hospital a lot with this boils and he still said i will be covered. When we spoke about the attached, that is when i asked him firstly about the cover and I know it said accident, that is why i asked about boils in hopital so i signed after he said yes. To me it feels like the sales reps are being dishonest to get the policy sold.
MY EMAIL TO THE UNLIMITED:
Hi there,
I called in the 28th of August 2020 to claim for being in hospital from 27 August to 1 September.
The consultant advised that the claim was sent for assessment and will get a call back within 5-7 working days, but I never did.
I had to send an email to get someone to contact me. The consultant that I spoke to told me that the claim is only for accidents, but still under assessment. I explained to her that the rep who sold this policy to me in Sandton Mall during my lunch advised me after I asked if for instants I land up in hospital for an abscess (boils) will the R1000 a day still pay out and he said yes. The consultant asked if I read the T&C and i advised that I do not care about the T&C as this was a verbal answer the rep provided me with and therefore i signed it.
I do not think that it is fair to be treated like this as i did ask the question and I was advised YES by the rep.
Can someome sort this out as soon as possible?
I am not threatening with lawyers and things like that as I signed, but I am very unhappy by way the rep assured me that even if i get a boil and end up in hospital i will be paid out.
I was rushed to hospital on the 26th of August with extreme chest, back, neck and head pains and been throwing up for days, so to me this claim is supposed to be approved cause this situation was worse than the boils admission the rep advised me will apply for claiming.

MY RESPONSE TO THE UNLIMITED:
The sales rep (Name was sent to the unlimited) and the attached back side of the document I signed where it states accident cash I did ask the sales rep does this cover if i end up in hopital for boils and he said yes, therefore I signed.
So yes I saw the policy and specifically questioned the hospital part and the answer was yes.
I was verbally assured by the sales rep after asking regarding the hospital part that I would be coverd for even boils.
In other words your sales reps would say anything to get a policy sold, which is not fair to the policy holder. I could have said no to this policy and gotten an hospital cover policy.
The only reason I'm not cancelling is I've been paying since 2018 and I will be losing all the money I have paid since 2018, BUT I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS POLICY TO ANYONE AS IT SEEMS TO ME I WAS *******.
Regards, Vanessa Kapp
