I lived at The Unison for over a year. Throughout my stay, we experienced frequent service disruptions, including repeated water outages and hot water failures. During some outages, residents were forced to collect water from the swimming pool to meet basic daily needs. Towards the end of my tenancy, I informed management in advance that my rent would be paid slightly late and confirmed I was willing to pay all penalties. I was told that no payment arrangements are allowed. Instead of following a lawful process, management cut off my water and electricity and locked me out of my unit for nearly an entire month. As a direct result, I was forced to sleep in the parking lot (in my car) with my girlfriend and our 2-year-old son, with no access to shelter. After settling the outstanding rent for the previous month, I was immediately issued with a 7-day notice to vacate, and management then demanded rent for the following month, despite terminating the lease themselves and denying me access to the unit. This conduct was punitive, inhumane, and raises serious legal concerns. I strongly caution anyone considering The Unison to think carefully before signing a lease.
