Rude service & attempted break in in apartment

I came to Johannesburg on business and as a single female i looked for a safe smart apartment to stay in as security is paramount for me. This facility was everything but secure and helpful from the 1st moment i stepped into the building. I had an early flight so i dropped off my bag at the apartment front desk. They had informed me the room was not ready which was understandable as i was there at 9am. i was informed the room will be ready at 2pm to which i comp****. Upon my arrival at 2:30 after my day long meetings, i was then informed that the room was not yet ready. When i looked at them in shock and informed them that this is not acceptable they managed to have the room available for me in 10 minutes. Now this story is important for the next series of events. This new 3-4 star apartment does not have an AC or heater. i had to request for a mini fan heater which did nothing for me that night. The below is where is gets traumatic, brace yourself Thankfully i am a light sleeper. i felt uneasy the entire night as i could hear random noises, however at 2am, i jumped out of bed in shock as i heard scratching at the front door, i ran for a mini steak knife, grabbed the door handle and screamed "WHO IS THERE" a man shouted at me to get out of the room. You can understand the fear a little lady like myself experienced. This went on for some time while i held the door handle and the man tried getting in by pushing the handle and working the lock. I of course tried phoning the front desk multiple time but no answer. i then contacted a friend and her partner some 20 km away. They came up with security. the man was nowhere to be seen. There was no surveillance camera on the floor, nor did the security guard know of a number to provide me with, he contacted his partner downstairs on his walkie talkie and they couldn't figure out a number. When questioned about not answering the front desk phone we were informed that apparently he is also not allowed to answer the front desk phone. So what happens in an emergency like this. am i left to be ****d or killed? i immediately packed up and left the apartment

Furthermore, when i informed the front desk the next morning, i was upset and with a strong voice i told my story. The day shift manager Mr Tmbela phoned me later that day to inform me that they will only refund me for my extra day(as i had paid for 2 days) and not the day of the incident. he cut me off a few times when i tried explaining my story. He called me rude for being upset about my room not being ready, and for being upset about the incident that next morning. i would like it to be known, i was not a Karen (though i had every right to be) i did not once scream not did i use vulgar language. the service provided was nothing short of pathetic and the incident seen by the staff seemed like a huge joke. I have witnesses who can testify to all of the above.
