Towbars Group in 82 Marine Drive, Paarden Eiland, Cape Town is a total con. I arrived by prearranged appointment on a Saturday morning and the "mechanic" wasn't there. A guy who was a helper said he would get started. The mechanic rocked up 3 hours later, no apology. The total mess took 5 hours and after all that, despite telling them how high I needed the tow bar to be, it was too low. The wiring they put in was meters, yes meters, too long and was simply wrapped around the underbody and cable tied in only 2 places, otherwise just rammed into gaps. The material they used for both the plate as well as the bar itself is totally substandard. I got this job done in late Jan, and by March it was severely rusted. The meters of wiring obviously fell out at some point, severing the wires and thanks to someone else spotting it I was saved many fuses blowing. It took me 3 months of constant emails and calls to finally get them to send me the invoice. The secretary was utterly *********** and simply couldn't be bothered.
