BEWARE OF TOWBARS GROUP !!!

Francois Schoeman , Manager of The Towbars Group at Meadowvale Value Centre , agreed to sell our brand new never been used Roll Bar and Tarpaulin Cover belonging to our bakkie , since we were never going to use it because we have a canopy instead . I had called this company first to enquire and Francois said I should bring it in. My husband and I took it in at the beginning of May 2018. Francois said he could easily sell it for R5000 and would take R1500 , leaving us with R3500 for it. He said he would probably be able to sell it within a week. For months after that I kept on calling him regularly to find out , but he kept on saying he hadn't sold it yet. By August / September when he no longer responded to my whatsapps and did not take my calls anymore I became suspicious and got a friend of mine to phone and enquire about a Rollbar. Francois told my friend Dave that he had only one of its kind but that he had sold it. At the same time we noticed an ad in Gumtree for such a Rollbar advertised for R8000 and which had just been sold. I sent an email to the Towbar company's email address and received an acknowledgement and confirmation that indeed they had sold my Rollbar , but not the cover. I was told that first I had to collect the cover if I wanted them to pay me for my Rollbar , which they would only pay R1500 for. Otherwise they would charge me R85 per day to store my cover ! I had my cover collected on the same day , emailed my bank details noteing that the agreed price was R3500 , and never heard another word back from this company again. My subsequent emails to them fell on deaf ears. Francois then answered his phone out of the blue after I sent my friend Debbie who lives in the area to collect my cover and admitted that he had sold my Rollbar but that he had lost his phone and promised to make the payment same day. Payment has never been forthcoming. It is almost end November. I have tried with little success calling Francois practically every day and only been able to get hold of him 3 times in 3 months . First he said I could either take R1500 or have my Rollbar back in perfect condition in the original wrapping with all the fixtures and fittings that go with it. I said I want it back. Debbie who is an ex police officer paid him another visit and demanded that my Rollbar gets returned to his shop by the end of September when she would collect it on my behalf. He said that his boss had taken my Rollbar to Cape Town but that they had sent it back to Jhb by courier. I managed to speak to him 3 times after that , every time he said my Rollbar was at the courier depot and he would go and collect it after work and bring it into the shop in Edenvale. Never done. Weeks went by. Eventually I asked him where the courier is and who they are sothat I could go and collect it myself. He said he would send me the information by email. The email has never arrived. I have called and spoken to his receptionist a few times and every time she says she will do it. Ive never received it. By now it was end October. Debbie then paid him another visit. He told her that he could either pay me R2000 for my Rollbar or I could collect it from Fast Freight. Francois' receptionist Anel , followed Debbie outside the shop and told her that " there is alot of sh...t going on here " but that she needed her job. We have Googled Fast Freight and found that the number is out of service and had no response to the email address , and have heard that this company has closed down. They only operate as clearing agents. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP US !!!
