The Teak Tree Company not compensating for borer beetle infested wood supp**** by them

We obtained maculata wooden planks from The Teak Tree Company in December 2017 and January 2018. Firstly, the manufacturing of the planks was not consistent in terms of width, either because the machines used are not precise enough or the planks were not appropriately kiln dried before being cut. We managed to install the planks, though, after a few attempts with different people. The end result was fairly acceptable. Very nice wood but fairly large gaps in between due to the inconsistent width of the pieces. Regardless, we were fairly happy as we were OK with the rough look, this is a natural product after all.

However, things turned for the worse when in August 2018 holes from wood borer beetles began to appear. This was confirmed by two experts, who confirmed that (i) considering the type of beetle present the infestation must have occurred 12-18 months ago i.e. long before delivery and (ii) there were even some pieces cut with borer beetle tunnels already in the wood which confirms that the wood was not treated properly.

We have had various e-mails and telephone calls with The Teak Tree Company (https://theteaktreeco.wixsite.com/theteaktreeco and https://www.facebook.com/Teaktreeco/) but to no avail. We are only asking for the costs of the cheapest fumigation to be covered (we got two quotes, one from our own contact and one from theirs) and no further compensation for either the wood itself which has been infested, or the extra costs which we will need to borne for vacating the house for at least one week. We believe this is a fair request but we are just getting excuses and no recompensation from The Teak Tree Company.
