Out of Stock

We were recommended by a friend & had dinner at The Sanctuary restaurant in Kloof Street Hotel. The food was amazing however, we had wanted to order the rib eye but they were out of stock and opted for another option. Then came dessert and we wanted cheesecake but it was not ready. With this being a hotel and restaurant, how does one not have stock. It is on the menu but they cannot serve it? Even the 2for1 drinks special, they were out of 2 ****tails. What's the point of having a special. Nonetheless, the food was amazing and we had fantastic time.
