Hotel stole my money

I have made a booking pre lockdown in Feb 2020 to spend 3 nights and 4 days with my family at the sails hotel in Durhan. The booking was for 22 June till 25 June 2020, and I made a deposit of R1000 and received an invoice from them, inv no. 13050/NB-***2 on the 10th Feb 2020. The country when into lockdown in March and I didn't receive any communication from the hotel, until I send an email in May prior to the date I booked to check the way forward. I spoke to Percy Zwane who told me that I can postpone or get a refund, however, if I get the refund I will be charged a cancelation fee of R285, I opted to cancel and pay the fee since I don't know when the lockdown will be lifted. I send all required information to Percy and his colleague Siobhian Lockhart and they didn't even acknowledge my email providing them with my banking details in order to refund me. I have been calling, emailing non stop and I have not received any responses or communication from them since May 2020. I am very disappointed and frustrated at the treatment I have received from them, I was looking forward to my holiday with my family and the lockdown affected everyone, and I could have fought for the cancelation fee, since this was beyond my control, but I have allowed them to take it. The question now is that why are they ignoring me and not trying to find a way or solution to the problem. Flysafair has given us vouchers for our flight for this trip and provided us with a year to rebook, why sails hotel is not doing the same thing, rather than *****ing peoples monies and ignoring them. I have been calling every day and nothing from their side. I need the money and I want it now, seeing that I can't do business with them further. It shows that if I had paid in full I was going to lose even more than what I am losing now. Can they at least attend to my query and respond my emails. I am willing to discuss a way forward with them
