******* Estate Agent-Doesn't pay your deposit back

We signed a lease agreement with The Rental Giant,Corrie Hurter/Schuit&Lesley Schuit,(Corrie is also the owner of the house we rented) thinking they were a legal company & paid a deposit when signing the lease that should be paid to a financial institution and accrue interest.They cannot provide proof that this was paid to a financial institution&now refuse to pay my deposit back to me. <br> <br> The Rental Giant is not registered with the Estate Agency Affairs Board and does not have a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate. The EAAB have informed us that The Rental Giant in Edenvale operated by Corrie Hurter/Schuit and Lesley Schuit are operating *******ly. The Rental Giant may not be operating without being registered & they are not allowed to issue a lease agreement in their name. <br> <br> We requested that Corrie is present for the entry inspection,which she declined(by law she cannot hold the deposit if declined)We then took pictures of every inch of the property to show the condition that the property was rented to us in,and she is now claiming that we have damaged the property,even though we have proof of the improvements that were done.Legal action will be taken<br> Report them to the EAAB<br>
