The **** Repair Company

I decided to have Samsung S9+ battery replaced at what I considered a reputable company. On contacting their Tygervalley Cellucity branch they assured me they only use OEM replacements, this lured me into a false sense of security. They successfully replaced the battery, however I noticed after a +/- week that the new battery only had a slight improvement on the old one , I then ran Samsung official Diagnostics and it reported the "new" battery life was weak, it was old and in a poor condition. I subsequently decided to return my handset as I believed that the replacement battery was not in an optimal state/new. I returned to the store but the technician was off work and I was asked to return during the week. Unfortunately post my initial visit, I had an incident whereby the glass on my screen was damaged right at the bottom edge causing cracks to develop across the screen, this however did not compromise the functionality of the handset and the LCD was still intact and touch screen in perfect working condition. When I initially took the handset in, the technician informed me that he will order a replacement battery, but due to the damage to the bottom of front glass, he cannot offer me a warranty on the new job, which I accepted. He called me a few days later and informed that the new battery has arrived. After about five days I returned with my handset and he changed his story, informing me that his manager informed him that I will have to pay for the replacement battery as according to him my damaged screen is the probable cause of the premature battery failure. The technician and his manager vehemently refused to replace the "degraded" battery they fitted, offering me a discount instead, which I declined as I was not prepared to pay for another battery after they fitted which I considered a “degraded” one. I want to warn prospective customers/clients to be extremely vigilant when dealing or considering having you handset repaired at the Tygervalley branch, as management and staff will collude to ensure they don't honour the warranty. Their warranty policy is normally their first/and only line of defense which in short states the following. "Warranty will be voided for any physical or liquid damage on parts" (Bottom of my screen was physically damaged not the battery, technician assessment was based purely on assumption as the battery is not visible) "Any unrelated faults picked up post-repair/collection will not be covered under warranty of the initial part/spare used, subject to assessment. (No proper assessment was done and the initial part replaced was not inspected)
