THE PYRAMIDS APARTMENTS, 1474 Egypt Cres in Cosmo City They are beautiful n clean, but don't be fooled by the looks. If you love Chaos, noise, your privacy invaded, sewage smell, poor customer care and loosing 80-90% of your deposit this is a perfact place for you. Here are a few red flags and bad experiences I encountered during my stay at this apartment. Trust me I'm not making anything up. * Their advert was saying rent is R4200 inclusive of Electricity & water with free wi.fi and Solar back-up. After a few months we were told "tomorrow we are coming to install the electricity meters". Our cost will be very minimal bcoz they'll be running on Solar (70% of the time) and we will only get charged when the back up power is low and we switch to the grid (Eskom). THEY ****. 1. Whether it's solar or Eskom your units are pulling. 2. After complaining, they said "oh we are sorry, the meters can't differentiate between Eskom n Solar and we didn't know. If this doesn't work for you, you can move out" 3. The consumption is double than the normal consumption. Minimum cost is at almost R900 (before winter) * SERVICE PROVISION/ CUSTOMER CARE - before you move in, the professionalism is on a high note, wait until you have 2 months of stay.... 1. Whenever they come to the premises, they just enter the units whenever and however they want, without a knock. They act like they are doing you a favor by giving you a place to stay. 2. There was a time we had sewage bust within the premises and everything was just flowing out. We reported on the group and the reply was like " we have reported it to the municipality" and shared a reference number. Before you reach the apartments you pass more than four sewage bursts affecting multiple households. Why would the municipal leave those to come and attend just one. For three days we couldn't even eat properly due to the smell. They weren't willing to get a private service provider. 3. The pedestrian gate lock was problematic.... they came and changed the lock and not say a thing to anyone. Not even an apology. THE PARKING: * If you got a car, just know that you can't go in & out as you'd like. Imagine having to wait for 2or 3 other people to come and make a way for you. * No Carpot/Shadow, yet you pay for the parking. ENVIRONMENT/ NEIGHBORHOOD * They treat this place as if it's in the burbs forgetting that it's a kasi. * If you can't stand 24/7 noise/music and you like a quiet place. Think twice. Whether its midweek, at night... you'll be hearing atleast 3 households playing loud music. You'd think they are competing as to whose music is more louder. There's a Tarven/Shebeen 1house away. * You gonna feel the smell of sewage till you get used to it. Whether you in the streets or your unit, it doesn't matter. I'm tired of typing but lastly, you only going to get the share of your deposit a month after you have moved out, while you served a month's notice, And I have never heard of anyone who got more than 20% of their deposit back. Hence only a month later, coz you can't do sht.
