Worst online shop experienced

So I purchased size 11 shoes from Pro shop online for them to phone me a week later saying they only have 1 shoe in size 11 and 1 shoe in size 12. It's out pathetic to have stock online and not on hand . I asked for a solution to this problem as it was a Christmas present for my husband and a refund won't solve anything. They came back with a solution of or pay R900.00 in on different shoes or have a in-store credit. I advised them that this was an error on their website and i do not feel that this is a solution that makes both parties happy. Yesterday without further communication from them I get a message that my refund request was received. I did not give any request through. This is an issue to me because the shoes they had stock of online was affordable to me just for pro shop to mess up and find a one sided solution and doing refunds without my request.
