Proshop competition a ****
The "competition" that the pro shop is running is a complete **** You can't win R 30 000!! At the very best you can get a minimum of R 200 off your purchase But the sms' from the proshop clearly state if you enter their competition you can win R 30 0 0 0!!! And why don't they cater for left handed golfers? Not even in the fitting sets in the "Master Fitters" kit could I find one that was left handed In the entire Fourways store there was one left hand set for beginners Pathetic

Hi Warrick
I am pleased to report that The Pro Shop's MAJOR Sale promotion is a legitimate promotion that has been incredibly well received by over 5,000 of our loyal customers. You are the only customer that has called it a ****.
Facts are not popular these days, I understand. But please allow me to present the boring facts. I will leave it to yourself and anyone else who reads this post to decide whether the facts dispel your assertion that our promotion is a ****. Which it is not.
You came to our store armed with mystery discount code 3F4-260-3DF that we had SMS'ed to you because you had played all 4 of our MAJOR Sale Games. I hope you at least enjoyed that part of the promotion, which I assume you did, as you played all 4 games.
On Saturday 25 August we sent you the following SMS You played Golf’s MAJOR Sale Game with The Pro Shop & here’s your boosted mystery discount 3F4-260-3DF. Watch how to redeem: https://bit.ly/2wmnZ2D. Opt out NO).
On Tuesday 28 August we then followed this up with another SMS 18 codes valued at R10k each still in play at The Pro Shop's Sale! Is yours one of them? Maybe. 3F4-260-3DF. R200 GUARANTEED. https://bit.ly/2wmoDNB. Opt out NO
You then purchased from our Fourways store on Thursday 30th August 2018 at 10am some gloves and ***** on invoice ref CASH***. Your invoice totalled R349.99. On this purchase you received a R300 mystery discount (slightly better than "at very best R200") which meant that you received a 85.7% discount off your purchase and paid the balance of R49.99.
Some would call that a great deal. I can promise you my cost was not 50 bucks. You're welcome.
The R30k you refer to (the "**** " part I guess) is a different, ADDITIONAL part of the promotion (ie. over and above the R300 we have already given you) . You played all 4 MAJOR Sale Games. So did almost 1,000 of our customers.
This group of customers have a chance of winning a share of R30k in gift cards to The Pro Shop, but only if they redeem their mystery discount during our sale. Which you did - I wish you luck in the draw. This was explained in the "How it works" link that was part of the MAJOR Sale Game. If you play ALL 4 Games AND redeem your mystery discount at The Pro Shop's MAJOR Sale, you will be in the draw to possibly win one of 3 gift cards from The Pro Shop valued at either R15,000, R10,000 or R5,000 … a prize worth playing for!
This promotion was designed by our marketing department, and I added the discount levels as the Group CFO. On a personal level, I am NOT in the business of ******** people. As it happens, neither is The Pro Shop in the business of ******** people. What are we in the business of doing? Doing our very best to put the customer at the centre of everything that we do. And to create delight and excitement for our loyal customers by creating cool, engaging campaigns. We do not seem to have pulled this off for yourself, and so I respect your wishes to not have any more contact with The Pro Shop and we will remove you from our customer database immediately.
I also respect your decision to think that I am full of BS and our campaign was misleading and a ****. That is your right. I appreciate your consideration of this long-winded (as you put it) explanation.

Hi Warrick
Right we making good progress here. Good to see.
With regards your first question, where one SMS says win R30k and the next says win a share of R30k, I absolutely concede the point. One says win R30k and the other says win a share of R30k. However, these do refer the same competition. The explanation I offer would be (on behalf of my marketing guys), that they were up against character limitation on the first SMS which limits us to 160 characters. Infact, I just checked, the win 30k SMS is at 158 characters long so that is probably the reason. The How it works link on the landing page would have given the split as I mentioned in my earlier reply. This is however, a misstep on our part, and potentially misleading, and we will be more careful in future.
But in conceding this point, and because I hope that you are having as much fun as I am right now, I hope you will then also concede that your original post also had a potentially misleading statement by claiming that "At the very best you can get a minimum of R 200 off your purchase" when you yourself received R300. No credit for the extra R100 :)
With regards your second question, customers who are lucky enough to have received a R10k code, have received exactly that, a code that is potentially worth R10k. If however, the customer does not spend up to R10k when redeeming the code, the value is forfeited. This is recorded in our T&Cs. "Mystery discount codes can only be used once and will not carry a balance." https://www.theproshop.co.za/major-sale-game-august-2018-what-happens-next. Some customers have spent less than their R10k voucher and others have used the full value by buying up to and more than the R10k. An interesting side note that is also pertinent to this conversation, is that our vouchering system is actually not capable of retaining a balance, so it would have been false if we had advertised that it was or that it would.
With regards your third question, it appears that a draw date has not been publicly announced, but I would suspect that the 3 vouchers (R15k, R10k and R5k) totalling R30k will be drawn and announced on either Monday 10 September or Tuesday 11 September.
Again, best of luck! You are in the draw! But I must warn you, you are up against a lot of other customers!! In truth, this campaign has been incredibly successful for us. The response, and the feedback, has been overwhelmingly positive. Upon reflection, I hope you can forgive us for what has been some communication missteps, and that you are able to give us just a little credit for what has been a proper cool campaign (from a completely unbiased source of course).
And who knows, maybe one day we will see you back at The Pro Shop. We do hope to see you again someday.
Kind regards,
Andrew
