Where do I even begin? If you're considering "The Poolice" for any pool work, do yourself a favor and RUN, RUN, RUN THE OTHER WAY! This contractor is quick to talk down other companies, calling them "*******" or "****ming," but his work is the most unprofessional, dangerous, and incomplete I've ever encountered. He's full of stories and empty promises, but he can't be bothered to pick up a phone or reply to a message. I paid R1.9k for a new pump and pool light installation, and my pool is now in a far worse and more dangerous state than before. Hazardous Electrical Work: The electrical installation is a complete nightmare and a serious safety hazard. The main electricity box is wide open, exposing wires, and the transformer for the pool light is just left exposed on the ground, practically in the water when it rains! He promised "longer *****s" to secure the box, but that never happened. Floating Pool Light (Despite Having the Bracket!): Despite being given the required bracket for the light (and even charging me for it!), he failed to install it correctly. Now, my pool light is just floating freely in the pool! All he used was a flimsy piece of foam to try and secure it—the actual bracket is doing nothing. It’s a complete shortcut and a total joke. Failed Leak Repair & Ghosting: He put some putty on a leak, declared it "should keep its level," and then completely disappeared. The patch is already leaking! I begged him to quote and fix the remaining cracks, but he just gave me new dates, said he'd "already bought the Pattex for the job," and ghosted my repeated calls and messages. He had the audacity to send an invoice itemizing parts (like the R190 "Light Bracket") and then proudly proclaimed, "No charge for any of the fittings or fixing the leak... Glad I could help." I didn't ask for charity; I asked for a job done correctly and safely! Now, I have to drain my pool and fix his mess myself. I have to warn others: DO NOT FALL FOR THIS TRAP! This guy is all mouth. I fully expect him to have a long, elaborate response to this review filled with a bunch of BS, but the fact remains that he can't pick up a phone or respond to a message. I've seen other people's reviews, and I'm not the first one he's done this to. There are much better, more reliable, and honest options available. Cheap is not always best, and this experience proves it.
