Disastrous mounting of 3 x valuable crystals/gemstones (for a 21st birthday) by The One Stop Trophy Shop, Newton Park Port Elizabeth

I entrusted 3 x valuable crystal/gemstones to The One Stop Trophy Shop, 49 Willet Street, Newton Park, Port Elizabeth for mounting, as a gift to my son for his 21st birthday. Marius ***ner of The One Stop Trophy Shop) didn't follow my instructions. As a result one of the crystals BROKE at the point/section where he bonded it directly to the glass base! (I specifically instructed him to create a 'cradle'/hook of sorts, for the crystal to 'lay' in, and the cradle/hook was supposed to have been bonded/stuck to the glass base/stand. However Marius bonded the actual crystal/gemstone directly to the glass base/stand. (and the crystal has now cracked/broken off at the section that was bonded to the glass base/stand). Furthermore the other crystal (amethyst) that I entrusted to him came back with a crack, and immediately subsequent to Marius working with it, the amethyst crystal rock has come undone from its original wooden stand/base. I instructed Marius to attach the original wooden stand to the new wooden stand, yet now, after Marius worked with my crystal, the entire crystal base has come undone/loose from its original stand. I never gave Marius permission to loosen my crystal from its original stand. I specifically instructed him to bond the original stand to the new stand. I have to wonder how on earth this happened?! The 3rd crystal's (a geode) wooden stand has a chip mark on the corner.

When I arrived at The One Stop Trophy Shop, the room I was received in by Marius (the owner), was an absolute mess, basically looked like a ***sty. Loads of Trophies etc were standing and laying around all over the show. The room was in a total disarray and mess. Marius and his wife however assured me that my crystals were in safe hands and I mustn't worry and that only Marius accessed this room, and no one else, and that Marius knew exactly where everything was. I then entrusted my 3 crystals to Marius in Oct 2018. After numerous follow ups, to date they never bothered to send me the Quote I specifically asked for on several occasions. I was promised that Marius would look at my crystals towards end Nov 2018 (when all the school trophies etc were finished) however by Thurs 13th Dec Marius had still not looked at or worked on my 3 crystals, yet they were closing down for their annual Dec holidays on 19th Dec! At this stage I still hadn't even received a quote from them. After I followed up with them, on 13th Dec 2018 The One Stop Trophy shop whats-apped me a "mock-up" pic of my 3 crystals on their respective bases/stands. To my horror, in their "mock-up" they had placed the one crystal horizontally (instead of vertically, as I specifically instructed them in the shape of a "J", which symbolized my son's initial). Furthermore, in their "mock up" pic they sent me, they had this crystal placed on a WOODEN base instead of the CRYSTAL-GLASS base I had specifically requested they use to showcase this crystal!! After receiving their "mock up" photo, I insisted to come and see Marius in person the evening of Thurs 13th Dec. I once again instructed and reminded him that the Brazilian Kyanite crystal (that was in the shape of the letter "J") had to be mounted on a crystal base/stand and I also once again reminded him that he must attach a cradle/hook of sorts onto the crystal base/stand wherein this crystal could lay. Marius then sent me the final artwork (iro the Text font and layout of the Messages to appear on each of the 3 respective Crystals) to sign off early evening of the 16th Dec 2018, which was a mere 3 days before their shop was closing on 19th Dec for the Dec holidays. They had my crystals since October 2018! To sum up: in my personal experience and based on the poor quality of the finished product supp**** to me by Marius (The One Stop Trophy Shop), the workmanship and quality on the mounting of my 3 crystals is extremely poor taking into account that his working with my crystals damaged 2 out of the 3 CRYSTALS that I entrusted to him! 2 out of 3 crystals being damaged after he has worked with them, in my opinion cannot be co-incidental. From what I can see from the finished product he supp**** me with, in my opinion it appears that he doesn't have a clue regarding how to work with CRYSTALS/gemstones and how to correctly bond/attach them to a base/stand without damaging them! In my opinion he did a rush job on my crystals as he only started working on them in approx the last 4 days before going on his Dec 2018 holiday, despite me giving him the crystals in OCT 2018 already! These crystals were for my son's 21st on 29 Dec 2018 which is a very special milestone birthday. I had to give my son 1 crystal that's base was broken off where it was bonded to the base/stand; and a 2nd crystal that was cracked and loose in its stand. The 3rd crystal's wooden stand has a chip mark on the wood in the top left hand corner which stands out as it is light in colour against the dark coloured/stained wood. My husband went to pick up my 3 x mounted crystals on the 19th Dec 2018, the day they were closing shop for the Dec holidays, after I had to follow up to ask them whether I could collect or not. My husband paid R800 in cash, and, to date, The One Stop Trophy Shop haven't supp**** us with a Quote (that I have been asking for for the past 3 months), nor an invoice, nor a cash-receipt. I am unsure as to why no paperwork whatsoever has been supp**** to us? In my opinion and based on my personal experience with The One Stop Trophy Shop the past 3 months, they are extremely unprofessional. To say I'm dissatisfied and upset with the finished products supp**** to me by The One Stop Trophy Shop 49 Willet Street, Newton Park, Port Elizabeth is the understatement of the year!! :( :( :(
