Traumatic Experience with this dealership. I bought a Vw transporter in April 2025, only to find out now in August 2026 that the dealership sold me a vehicle that had a cloned vin and engine number. In simple terms this vehicle was made a twin of a vehicle that is in capetown. Im not sure how the dealership managed to arrange finance for this car and have it loaded on the natis system. The vehicle has since been confiscated by the SAPS and its impounded. It turns out the car had a pending case where it was reported ****** in January 2025 and I only bought it from the motor market dealership in April after the vin number was changed . The trauma I have right now is that I have been using the vehicle not knowing that im driving such a car and anything could have happened or I would have been arrested in a roadblock. I informed Shaun the owner of the dealership about this and he did not show any remorse but all he did was to tell me that he will not pay me back my deposit, or my installments that I have been paying hoping that I will own the vehicle one day. So all my 17 months installments, the deposit i paid and my bmw trade in have just gone down the drain. Currently I am struggling to get him to settle the car with the bank and this has caused me unnecessary stress and inconvenience that I shouldn't be going through. The red flags with this vehicle were there prior to it being confiscated. Each time I would take it for service or to buy parts using that **** or cloned vin number, it would always bring the wrong parts and its something vw could not understand and I raised this with Shaun numerous times but he did not care and he is very arrogant. Another red flag was that The Motor market adjusted the mielage on the vehicle from what it was initially when I saw the vehicle first time before buying it. It was adjusted from 70000km to 124000km because the year of the vehicle and the mileage could not make sense and surely this was an attempt to match the mialage of the original vehicle that was in capetown. I am very angry right now as Shaun is not communicating regarding the matter and all he does is to come up with excuses on how and where he got the vehicle , but all this has got nothing to do with me. All I need at this stage is to have this sorted . Its very unfortunate and sad that they dont even care to have this resolved quickly. Now I have to go through lawyers for something that the dealership is responsible for and could easily resolve because this has got nothing to do with me. Infact its an inconvenience that now costs me money, stress and sleepless nights. This is a lesson learnt and I will not set my foot ever in such dealerships. I feel the best that the motor market dealership could have done is to take responsibility immediately after I reported this matter to them and initiate to resolve the matter in a professional manner, offer me another car or immediately talk to me on how they intend to compensate me. All I can say is that in that dealership they know what they are up to. If this was a genuine mistake that they did not know about as well, then they should be in the fore front of the whole situation, take ownership and try to resolve it as quick as possible to protect their image as a business.

Absolutely amazing experience at The Motor Market! We purchased an Audi Q3 in December 2024, originally for my father, but it was later passed down to me — and since the day we got it, we have been extremely happy with it and have had absolutely no complaints thus far. I absolutely love my baby! 🚘❤️ What I appreciated most was their honesty and transparency — they openly inform you if there is anything wrong with a vehicle or if it has had accident repairs done, which gave us peace of mind and built a lot of trust. A special thank you to Jason, who helped us at the time, as well as the entire team for their outstanding service and professionalism throughout the whole process. The vehicle was exactly as advertised and in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend The Motor Market to anyone looking for quality vehicles and excellent customer service! 🙌 I’m specifically leaving this review now because we have followed The Motor Market on Facebook for a long time, and recently there have been **** allegations spreading on social media regarding an i20 that has been purchased from them. From our personal experience dealing with them, I honestly feel the need to set the record straight. Our experience with The Motor Market has been nothing but positive, honest and professional from day one.
