Prepaid Electricity Billing Query

I have written to twice to [Email Removed] querying about the tariff rate I am being charged when purchasing pre-paid electricity. Its 2 weeks now and still no adequate response other than that a statement will be requested for them to check if the meter is set at correct tariff rate.

How can I be charged at 37% more than the rate/unit before 1st July electricity increase. Furthermore I also raised a query on why the number of electricity units I require per month has increased substantially since 1st of July 2015 (with all variables constant before and after 1 July 2015). I get a deafening silence, 2 weeks is a long time and it is I who suffer paying ridiculously elevated electricity rates while the so-called investigation is happening at a snail's pace (if indeed there is anyone from The Meter Man looking into my query at all). I have supp**** my transaction record/pattern from my records pointing out glaring abnormalities in the trend- still I have no answers. Is the meter not working properly, is it just an incorrect tariff rate?

Can I at least have some responses outlining steps being taken to remedy this situation.

Very disappointed at this slow service.

Hello fmdawini,

The rate on a meter is set according to the statement received from the Body corporate. In this case a statement was received and the rate was adjusted according to that statement. This is a sub meter so the owner still gets billed for electricity consumption. In order to recover the electricity usage that is billed to the owner (and used by the tenant) the rate had to be increased. We do apologise that the relevant department did not reply when the initial query was sent through. Please do not hesitate to contact Juliana in the tariff department should you have any further questions. Kind regards The Meter Man
